Anyway, if you want to go to the very beginning, we can do it. Middle Ages: Christian, Jewish and Arabo-Andalusian music. OK?

Let's start with a fundamental work: Cantigas de Santa MarĂ­a ("Canticles of Holy Mary"), from the 13th century. They are written in Galician-Portuguese, one of the languages derived from Latin spoken in the peninsula at the time.
