Heh heh...I thought these lyrics were actually kind of good because they are quirky, just like the song. I suspect the simplicity is intentional to make the lyrics funny. And I think it's cute that he says of his mouse, "I don't know why I call him Gerald. He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse."

I suppose one reason I like these lines is that I like mice. They have such cute little hands and noses!
