This is the Smog album I keep coming back to ever since I've first heard it, somewhere in the late 90s. Those familiar with Smog (Bill Callahan) maybe know what to expect, but this album especially is so stripped down that we almost hear Callahan's soul, laid bare in front of us. Come to think of it, this cover art is perfect for this moody, simple, lo-fi music. The opening track, 'You Moved In', is the strongest, imo:

agreed. i love smog because of their awesome lack for both simplicity and dissonance. just such an interesting and moving sound for lo-fi to adopt. amazing.
