Uh... The point is, hip hop did not build its foundation on brag rap. That's what anticipation said, and it's wrong. Bravado was not the foundation, the culture was already established and growing, plenty was going on before the focus on self promotion and battle rhymes; bravado was an inevitable part of its evolution, and it's one of the best traits beheld by the hip hop culture, really.
