Thumbs up Jack White "No Name"

Jack White released an album this week with no fan fair or announcement. It was free of charge to anyone who made a purchase that day at one of his three Third Man Record Stores (in Nashville, Detroit and London). It was also shipped to certain people who had a vault subscription. I was not one of those people. But he encouraged people to rip and share it. So I have listened to it several times on YouTube already. All the tracks are officially "Untitled" which makes a review slightly more complex lol.

The meat and potatoes of it is full of juice though imo. I don't feel there is weak track on it. He has returned to his Blues, Garage Rock, Punk style and it is rocking my socks off. Full of killer guitar riffs and not much fluff that even my favorites of his solo releases have had. It has real White Stripes feel to it. It's slightly sloppy and some people might have an issue with the mixing quality of it. I do not however. My favorite track off it is five (which some people are calling Voodoo). This is the Jack White I learned to love. Raw and loose just jamming without the need for perfection. He mixes his old style with his experimention phase of his last three releases. I would rank it four and a half stars out of five. I highly recommend listening to it for anyone who misses the White Stripes
