Most mainstream bands get that treatment.

They're all painfully generic 4/4 pop-rock songs with insipid chord progressions, and virtually every single one of them follows the same format:

- Verse
- Chorus
- Verse
- Chorus
- Shitty bridge with clean guitar and no drums
- Builds back up into the chorus
- Repeat chorus until the end

Something like that anyway.

And that is typically how that part of the genre goes. Ty creed.

edit: and who sais its gneric just because they follow the typical order for a song.... its what is sounds like that matters

sunny2side2up 10-14-2007 05:26 PM

I have the CD. Over all it is okay. I like a few songs but I have to say my favorite it "Far Away." That was a really awesome song. I am not so crazy about "Rockstar" though.

And it sounds generic.

Dr_Rez 12-02-2007 02:55 PM

I dont love them, i just think they take way to much **** from people. And are overly criticized and shat on.

ma/chem/rom 12-07-2007 12:47 AM

they r the WORST band!!!!!!! (not includng pop) yukkkkk! i HATE them all

ma/chem/rom 12-07-2007 12:48 AM

too true wayfarer

~DaRk-EyE~ 12-07-2007 08:11 AM

I think the album is great. I like the song If Everyone Cared from this album. Actually I'm listening to it right now..

O'Bannion 12-11-2007 12:05 AM

Their older **** is better.

You need to broaden your mind. Apparently there could not possibly be a worse band than Nickelback, and all pop is even worse.

Strap me to the anchor 12-21-2007 12:23 PM

Nickelback pisses me off more than anything. My band spends countless hours practicing and improving our sound, playing things that are actually challenging, picking apart our songs and working really ****ing hard, withoutthe slightest chance of ever getting to be nearly as popular as nickelback.

They take the most cliche chord progressions, the most arrogant, stupid sounding voice tones, the most un-inventive, trite, and elementary rhyming schemes, and the ****tiest, ****ing retarded ass verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus chorus song structure, and become ****ign HUGE. i hate how musically ignorant people are.

"look at this photograph, every time i do it makes me laugh"

the guy sounds like ****ing kip dynamite.

This is the way it has always been in the music industry and mainstream music fans usually always plump for safe commercially minded music. Concentrate on your strengths and weaknesses, and if you have the conviction and drive you will achieve success.

There are many bands out there with non commercial sounds who do make it, so never let negativity enter your thoughts. you are doomed before you start if you keep with that attitude.

xplore 01-05-2008 03:27 PM

yes, perhaps you are right..

Lizzie 01-18-2008 06:19 PM

Poor....i dont really want to listen to the same ****ty song over and over again with only the slightest variation to it

under 01-19-2008 01:55 PM

i really wished i liked this album. but i found it to be very horrible. Nickelback is moving down slowly. its kind of funny.

Rainard Jalen 01-20-2008 11:56 AM

While I'm in full conviction that this album was shite, I think it would be interesting nonetheless to know just how many of the circa 40 people who voted "poor" actually listened to it. I'd bet less than 3%.

under 01-20-2008 12:21 PM

haha. people probably came here and was like "nickelback, gross" i forgot to vote so i put it as poor. but believe it or not, there are people who still listen to Nickelback, i wish whenever i hear about that for there ears to explode. lol.

Lizzie 01-20-2008 06:17 PM

im still amazed that there were two votes for classic/flawless. they must have been joking or something

under 01-20-2008 08:42 PM

haha. or drunk. but i guess if its someone personal opinion im all for that. i mean there are some crazy out of minded people who like Nickelback.

i dont know what they were thinking but they do like em.

hotpotato 01-28-2008 02:12 PM

nickelback aint music..

Rainard Jalen 01-29-2008 06:50 AM

There's a certain irony to the title of the album. For it ought to be pointed out that, essentially, it was made for all the wrong reasons.

littledude 01-31-2008 03:22 PM

nickelback remains one of the best rock bands currently

Urban Hat€monger ? 01-31-2008 04:49 PM

It's a shame that out of all the good reviews written in this forum this rubbish gets bumped the most.

Rainard Jalen 01-31-2008 05:18 PM

meh. i didn't know it was bumped, just saw it at the top n posted.

gettingwop 02-15-2008 07:29 PM

nothing to write home about!!

I certainly won't discredit nickleback because they are alot more successful then I am. With that being said, this album is run of the mill at best. I think the Nickleback craze is the thing of the past, and they'll be fading back in the near future..I hope they invested in stocks, or something...

Nosmada 02-15-2008 07:39 PM

Poor

Necromancer 02-17-2008 07:49 PM

NickelBack, Is by 'ALL MEANS' / 'ALWAYS'!... NickelBack. (Whatever their album may be) I always liked, 'Someday'. As a NickelBack favorite of mine. Peace. PS. My favorite NB single is: ('I Loved You All Along').

Alfred 02-17-2008 08:05 PM

Peace of **** excuse for an album.

I wouldn't even buy their stuff. They suck ass via a straw.

Farfisa 02-18-2008 10:22 AM

rockstar is quite a bothersome song.........

Necromancer 02-18-2008 01:15 PM

NickelBack?

I have noticed, on some forum's. It seems that at least over 50% of members, etc. Do not like Nickelback. Is it because they sound the same on every song? Or what? If you would, Please explain to me (seriously)! The reason or reason's, Nickelback is a band you dislike. I am just curious, as to the answers. Thats All....

right-track 02-18-2008 01:26 PM

I don't dislike this band...other bands I can think of do... much more.
They have the unsettling knack of making instantly recognisable records, that after a very short period of time, begin to irritate.
At least that's the effect they have on me.

Necromancer 02-18-2008 01:46 PM

Thank You

Thats the reply I was hoping for! Thanks RT. I guess maybe that is why only a few of their ballads are the only songs that stand out, for me anyway. 'I Loved You All Along', and even 'Someday' is getting old. I think their second album was OK, when it was first released. The Spiderman Soundtrack, featuring: Syliva, was a change up at least.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-18-2008 02:00 PM

Elevator music with guitars.

That's my reason for hating them anyway.

right-track 02-18-2008 02:13 PM

Now if they'd done this, I'd have been more impressed...

Necromancer 02-18-2008 02:22 PM

I can relate to that UH. Ive heard it over the intercom's, On hold, with the telephone, etc. It also seems like, the Rock part of Nickelback gets more irritatig to me more quickly, than say. Their ballads do. But 'I loved you all along' will always be one of my favorite songs, regardless of who the band may be in question. Peace.
