Talking Rietta - Cut Me Loose

My mum has been playing this damn record all over the house and, like all the best records do, it has in fact grown on me like a fungus.

Soft-rock for housewives, I saw no place for this on my ipod but now I find myself driving the car on a winter's morning warning up the engine with catchy tracks such as Wildflower and Back to You.

Some tunes border on power ballads but there are elements of a more modern Anastasia type sound that hauls this rather talented vocalist into today's pop era.

Rietta won't be any competition for todays teen temptresses but she might give Cher a run for her money - just as soon as a few more folks hear about her.

Back To You really is quite excellent.

Released on Halo records. Out now. MySpace.com/riettaaustin
