How is Bye any different than Ostriches & Chirping?

Either/Or > XO > Elliott Smith > From A Basement > Figure 8 > Roman Candle

Because Elliott wanted it to be on the album, not some producer. And Roman Candle last? Are you serious?! That's like Elliott at his core.

It's last because it took the longest to click with me. XO is really the only Elliott Smith album that I loved the first time I listened to it.

i just read his bio on last.fm and it says that he died from 2 stab wounds and they thought it was a suicide but it was later questioned. has anything been confirmed?

simplephysics 05-26-2008 02:41 PM

no, the case is still open.

(Chiba did it)

No and I put on Roman Candle last too, I don't understand this argument that it has to be just Elliott and his guitar for it to be Elliott. King's Crossing is way more emotional than Either/Or, Elliott Smith and Roman Candle put together.

Figure 8 is the only album that I don't feel is genuine.
..I'm a much bigger fan of his acoustic stuff, but I can still see that XO and From a Basement are clear gems in his discography.

NoseClams 05-26-2008 02:49 PM

well, i just finished 'figure 8' and i think i liked it decently well. I have just started 'XO' and I am about 3 songs into it, and i am enjoying it a lot more than the 'figure 8' and FABOTH.

sleepy jack 05-26-2008 02:51 PM

FABOTH is meant to be enjoyed as songs, not as an album. Keep that in mind.

Yeh does anybody notice that when a rockstar it often goes unawnsered?

Roman Candle is way more personal. It has such a rawness to it that it's like you're sitting in a room with Elliott. And King's Crossing? Really?

I don't tend to question opinion, but are you ****ing kidding? KC is the epitome of visceral. It's the only song I can't sit through, I get teary eyed every time I listen to it; and with each play it makes more sense.
