The only song I'd say is sadder would be True Love, which was recorded during his Basement-era.

An example:
Roman Candle

he played himself
didn't need me to give him hell
he could be cool and cruel to you and me
knew we'd put up with anything
i want to hurt him
i want to give him pain
i'm a roman candle
my head is full of flames
i'm hallucinating
hallucinating
i hear you cry
your tears are cheap
wet hot red swollen cheeks
fall alseep
i want to hurt him
i want to give him pain
i'm a roman candle
my head is full of flames
i want to hurt him
i want to hurt him
i want to hurt him
i want to give him pain
and make him feel this pretty burn.

you do know what's it's about right?

Yeah sorry and it's still not as sad as King's Crossing or True Love.

well whatever, that's your opinoin. i think that a brokenhome is more depressing than whatever king's crossing about.

You have to consider what was going on in Elliott's life before you deem anything before Either/Or as his most depressing song.

I would say I Didn't Understand is pretty depressing, not to mention ****ing haunting as hell.

Anything of his live bootlegs, i.e. black cat is the most depressing. His voice is pristine, he has a tragic humility to him which makes his death the more prominent. *wanks on*

all i know is while reading the lyrics to kings crossing, i tried to kill myself 3 times. that **** is just depressing as hell.

His later bootlegs kind of hurt. He sounds totally out of it.

Pretty fair rating I think. I used to listen to this a while back but not much anymore.

From the beginning, this man was a fragile man
