Default Coldplay- Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends

Some of you may know the album leaked. it comes out officially in some places next week
here we go.
1. Life in Technicolour- 8/10- Good opening to ease into the album, but the fact that i know there is a version with lyrics will lead me to never look at this song the same way again.
2. Cemetaries of London- 9/10- One of my favorite Will songs on the album, even though every song is a Will song. This song will be the real album opener to me.
3. Lost- 10/10- Awesome. Great guitar solo, and i think this version is better than the acoustic version.
4. 42- 9.5/10- If i wasn't expecting the greatest song ever this would be a 10. The first and third part are phenominal with the middle being the weakest. I love how it comes full circle at the end.
5. Lovers in Japan- 9.5/10- Another great song, and this would be a 10 if the acoustic didn't come out and completely blow me away. But another great song. My favorite chris song on the album.
5b- Reign of love- 7/10- weakest part of the album but its growing on me. could have been left off though
6. Yes- 10/10- i love this song. Coldplays most sexual song! and all the instruments rock. Love it! My other favorite chris song.
6b- Chinese Sleep Chant- 10/10- Another awesome line. Love chris's kinda faded voice, very atmospheric. can't wait for this one live.
7- Viva La Vida- 10/10- Not my favorite but i still love it. This is the most popular song on the album iwth the public rightn ow and i understand. this is the song the album will be remembered for.
8. Violet Hill-8.5/10- Good, but not great. Should be awesome live. Chris's weak point vocally in my opinion. Jonny's solo rocks.
9. Strawberry Swing- 10/10- The surprise of the album. Noone saw this song being so good. It's so happy, i love it! Somewhat beatlesish, so i ain't complaining.
10. Death and All His Friends- 10/10- Pontentially the best song coldplay has ever written. The song is amsterdam like, which is awesome cuz thats currently my favorite coldplay song. but probably not for long with this one breathing down its neck. The sollo part rocks. and the choir is just amazing. the lyrics rock. its perfect. absolutely perfect
10b- The escapist- 8/10- The album didn't need to end here. Especially because i felt i had already heard this song with life in technicolour. I like the idea of full circle but this could've been better. Its still good though.

Overall a phenominal album. Possibly not better than arobtth, but right there with it. Wort the wait for sure.

There's no reason why you can't still do that. After all, we have 2 threads reviewing the discography of King Crimson.

This album sucked except for Viva La Vida, which was VERY produced. I have listened to it like 4 times to see if I could squeeze anything out of it that has artistic integrity... and have not been able to...

Well, the song Viva La Vida is itself disappointing imo so I'm not overwhelmingly excited about the remainder at this stage.

It's a grower...and whoever fails to get goosebumps during Death and all is friends is......is dead...or something.......
