This is my first review of this kind, so please bear with me. This album is really exciting. It isn't really the kind of music I would normally listen to, but I have been giving it a lot of play time lately. Genre wise, its mostly funk, but he also likes to rap, and does some other stuff so its kind of hard to peg. He has a great flow, as does the album itself. The songs are really well fit together and the integration is phenomenal.

The highlight of this album is the combo of "The World Is Calling" and "Top Shelf." Both great songs (Top Shelf perhaps my favorite off the album), and the transition is really interesting (esp with phones).

Even within one song, the sound might change drastically, leaving me feel like there is a part of it that I am really into, and a part that isn't so much my thing. But there is something I enjoy in pretty much every song, so I don't feel the need to skip through to the ones I really enjoy.

Enough of me talking, check this out, tell me what you think.

edit: i forgot to mention, drums. they are really interesting overall; unique and unexpected. Following the drums has me pleasantly surprised most of the time.

1. Great pick. Lyrics born really is very talented. I haven't heard this album yet but Ill check it out now. His last 2 although are great listens.

2. Just a tip when doing an album review, first post a picture of the album, then at the end give it a rating.

Good post though.

I don't have enough post count to post a picture. :o

I'm way to subjective to give a meaningful rating, but I'll throw 8.5/10 out there if it makes people happy.
