Yeah because there's an album that needs more publicity.

Great thread streetwave. My 60's knowledge is pitiful and I've been meaning to bone up. The Sonics just blew me away. I had no idea such raw rock'n'roll was being made in 1965.

Man you need to start with the Doors and finish with the Doors...........no just kidding there, they might be the best band of the era but there are a whole load of fantastic other bands and albums too. If you want, I'd recommend a whole of lot stuff for you and again for the 1970s, I know quite a bit about your music tastes, so would have a good idea on what you might like.

Actually, I'm trolling for garage rock at the moment. Listening to The Seeds, The Zombies, obsessively over playing The Sonics, and checking out Count Five ATM.

Its not that I don't like garage rock, but I tend to think of it as the least interesting of the principal music genres of the 1960s. Psychedelic rock, acid rock, R&B and blues rock I found a lot more interesting and generally had better quality bands. Most of the Zombies discography is far too melodic to be considered garage rock.

Now here's a gem that I'm sure you'll like, its the debut Deviants album and is a fantastic mixture of garage rock and psychedelic rock, few garage rock bands could put out anything as good as this.
