"Beats Workin'" 5:02 Here's my review of the new Van Halen album. I've never been a huge Van Halen fan. So I'm fairly objective on this release. This album is kinda a throw back to the first four releases. David's voice is not strong anymore. But his tongue and cheek lyrics are still kinda catchy. Michael Anthony is missed on this collection of songs IMO. If your a fan of the first four albums. You might enjoy some of these songs on this album. It's a decent return for Van Halen. They did stick to there formula and not try to go into Modern Rock sound. Which is a bright spot on this album. The first single Tattoo is not a good song to start this album. IMO worst song on this album. The stand out tracks here are. You And Your Blues,Blood And Fire,Bullethead,Outta Space. Well I gave it 7 Out Of 10 cause it will probably never end up in my regular rotation. Much Liked the Chickenfoot release more. But if your a Van Halen with David fan. You should enjoy this. Here's a couple of songs. You be the judge |

I never even realized that they had released a new album, I did hear rumours of it a couple of years ago when DLR was back in the fold. Van Halen may have lacked some of the songcraft of their rivals but they added real glamour to metal without actually being a glam metal act and through DLR they really added a lot of sexuality and humour to the genre as well. For these reasons alone and some great albums they should rank in any top 20 metal list.
Its good to see DLR looking pretty good and I'm glad he didn't try and squeeze into a lycra jumpsuit |
