![]() ![]() Album Title: MBV Artist: My Bloody Valentine Label: MBV Release Date: February 2, 2013 Tracks 1. She Found Now 2. Only Tomorrow 3. Who Sees You 4. Is This And Yes 5. If I Am 6. New You 7. In Another Way 8. Nothing Is 9. Wonder 2 =================== It took Kevin Shields 22 years to produce a follow-up to Loveless, the tour de force of dream pop. That's a little bit longer than it took James Joyce to write Finnegan's Wake but I don't think My Bloody Valentine Fans will be disappointed with this release, which many folks never thought would happen. Kevin is a relentless perfectionist who was never preoccupied with leaving behind a prolific body of work. Kevin is still gazing at his shoes like it's 1992, which is probably a good thing since the dream pop genre never really gained a lot of attention two decades ago, except among a legion of aspiring guitarists who went out and bought Fender Jaguars with tremolo arms and and plugged them into dual Vox 30 AC amps to imitate Kevin Shield's warped, dream-like wall-of-guitar sound. Shield is probably the most influential rock guitarist of his generation. I like MBV almost as much as Loveless and I'm wondering what my fellow forum members think of the new album by My Bloody Valentine. |
