Default Earth Wind and Fire - The Essential

Disco Two

September
7/10
Not bad and not overplayed IMO, but extremely familiar to everyone. Hints of drama in the high pitch chorus. Makes me really happy, but the brass irritates me very slightly @ times.

Serpentine Fire
6/10
SOOO 1970s funk, reminding me of Sesame Street, bell bottoms, etc... it gets a little redundant.

Fantasy

7.5/10
Pretty positive, giddy feelings come for me overall when hearing this I feel like I'm on a swing or a ride. I imagine prancing cats of all colors coming from all directions and their feet.
An image of broadway dancers holding their hands up comes to mind as well. This is too bright, lacking darkness.

I'll Write A Song For You

No way, no thanks.
2.5/10
Too slow, too frilly, and too gentle.

Drum Song

2/10
They're trying too hard.

In The Stone
Extremely catchy IMO, with that hint of playful dread in the guitar. I've sang this all day before, for days on end. I'd dance or skate to it...
7.5/10

Can't Let Go

8/10
This was my favorite on Disc 2 for a long time and may still be. The drum is just right and I love downward scales in a song. The synthesizer is pretty cool too and the fact it sounds like it is trying to catch up to pace in midsong is genius.

To be continued....................
