Title: Infinita Symphonia Artist: Infinita Symphonia Year: 2013 Nationality: Italian Chronology: Second of three Genre: Power Metal Familiarity: Niente (zero) Loved: Liked: Everything except “Welcome to My World” Meh: Disliked: “Welcome to My World”, duh Hated Review: I quite liked this, though to be fair there’s nothing terribly special about it, nothing that marks it out from any other power (is it power? I don’t think it is, not really) metal band. It’s competent and some of the songs are catchy, and none are terrible, but would I listen to more, that’s the question. Title: The Cover of Light Artist: OSV Year: 2015 Nationality: American Chronology: 8 of 10 Genre: Instrumental Prog Metal Familiarity: Zero Loved: Liked: Comfortably Numb, Every Breath You Take Meh: Everything else Disliked: Hated Review: When, after four or five spins, the only songs you can remember on an instrumental prog album are cover versions, you’re in trouble. I tried, I really did, but this just made no impression on me. Rating: A big fat MEH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckHJ0qYVxxI |
I listened to Cargo's album but apart from the opening track, rest seemed trite hard rock to me. It also reminded me there was another band called Cargo that released a better album in the 70s, I think.
