I've logged on for a second just to say this is a great idea. The lounge should be locked for a week or so, and then locked randomly for a couple of days every week. Or, well, maybe just indefinitely. I come on here to have discussions about music or to find out which of the new wave of bands I hate the most and the stupid lounge discussions pull you in and waste your time worse than telesales.

Or rename the site "Banter".

yes please, ive not seen many decent threads to post in at all, i have made some, that have been completley ignored, the lounge takes away from it all

Ok.....first off I've been posting in the lounge because there havent been many interesting threads made in OTHER parts lately. Secondly, I listen to Marilyn Manson very rarely and why does that matter at all? Also, not a fucking hoe, thanks for calling me out for no reason.

I wouldnt leave if the lounge closed anyway.

This is ridiculous, i've been on this forum for a long time and to lock a gen discussion section on any forum is ridiculous. If Jibber or whoever does this the forum will flop.

Two things:

1) Alli doesn't care.

2) The Lounge should be deleted so you can't give us your misguided opinions on why it shouldn't be locked.


MX seems to be doing just fine without a pit, and if people here actually listened to the music others posted instead of just making "BEST BAND?/BEST SINGER?" threads, the music sections would hold up on their own. Just throw a community thread in each, durr.

I mod a marijuana forum and for the longest time..I and admin tried are hardest to keep the boards clean of anything that didnt relate to marijuana..and the bigger the forum got the more threads that werent about marijuana were created...it was ridiculous to assume that people that had joined didnt have other things besides marijuana to talk about...so we created an Off Topic board and everything that wasnt related could go there..it is one of the smaller of the boards but it gets a lot of play...music is a huge part of everyone's life (here) but music is not all the entertains us or unites us...

From what I can see most of the people calling for the lounge to be deleted were the ones filling it up with crap last night.

Why are people even giving this a single thought? There is no way in hell that the lounge is gonna get locked. And hiu, the one bitching and moaning about it, is one of the biggest lounge spammers here. So just give it a f*cking rest. If the lounge was locked then all the decent music threads (which have come few and far between lately) would start filling up with useless chatting and spam.

Neither are the members that post in it.

It's the posts that some of the members post in it...that's the problem.

I say automatically disable any account that has more than 25% of their posts in the lounge.

I think we should lock the lounge for two weeks and just see how it goes.
