I think they should be allowed but with standards. Finding a poll that says "A vs B, discuss" is a little tiring. Finding one that says "Pepsi vs Elephant" is even worse. They should be required to have some common ground laid out in the starting post and an explanation for the comparison. If you aren't willing to provide some backing to your poll, you shouldn't be posting it.
