I know the issue on not posting urls is to prevent spamming but 15 posts is a mighty sum. I read forums mainly and post rarely but there are times when I come across something I'd like to share and I can't until I have run around the forum with the internet equivalent of a spraycan. Could we consider taking it down to 10?

The little amount of effort you had to put in to post a link is greatly outweighed by the 10 users a day that spam 15 posts just to post a self-promoting link then skip out forever. If you plan on sticking around and making worthwhile posts, 15 isnt much. I would rather it be increased so it discourages these fools to not waste their time.

The 15 post thing is there for precisely the reason that it is a pain in the arse.

Having it set at 15 really makes it easier for the mods to spot spam. If you set it to 10 it's harder to judge if someone is spamming with 6 or 7 posts than it is with 12 or 13 posts like we do currently, basically it gives us a bigger picture to work with.

Plus we prefer to get rid of them during the spamming rather than after because once they've spammed they never come back. If you catch them at it you can tell them exactly what you think of them while you are banning them, and it makes it that bit more satisfying.

And 5 more posts if you're planning to stick around is hardly a big ask, even if you don't post a lot.
