You only get shot down by others if you start getting abusive when you don't have your own way or if you suddenly start spouting rubbish about stuff you plainly know nothing about.

You might irritate a few people if you piss on a few sacred cows , but as far as i'm concerned that's healthy. As long as you know what your talking about and back up your reasoning without throwing your toys out of the pram and have conviction in what your saying nobody can argue with that.

People overstate the hostility here , it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

I have no problem with what people want to listen to.
It's when you start making outrageous claims about these bands is when i'll get involved. And I don't care if it's the most throwaway of pop bands or the biggest rock bands on earth. Nothing should be sacred and everything has it's pluses and minuses.

The internet by nature is a breeding ground for ignorance. So to expect much beyond that is tiresome. Now that my cynical assessment has been spoken I really respect your effort to try and clean up the forum.

Maybe this has been mentioned before, but can the power to upgrade to a bigger size avatar be allowed for people with a certain number of posts? That way we don't have to bother moderators for the favor.

Haha I posted in the wrong thread with this idea: I want more than 50 PMs, you could create another usergroup for members who *cough* contribute to the forum in a certain *cough* way if you get what I mean *wink wink* not that the forum *cough* condones such activities.

I know vBulletin has the ability to show users all the new posts since their last visit. It would be great if this feature were turned on so that we could see all new posts without having to click through each individual forum looking for them.

The way I've seen it set up before is as a little link in the upper right of the main page called "New Posts Since Your Last Visit".

I've seen that too, but it's kind of redundant with all the other stuff.
