To those asking about dimensions, can't one just assume they'll be whatever it is the old banner is?

Toe, I think your banner has too much height. It's a big chunk. Also, it's all blue which is a bit boring. There's filler on the sides where there's nothing and I think in a banner, I would suggest to pull the attention in the image to the left like the current music banner does. Actually, I like the old one better ..

Just a comment, though. There's lots of good in it, but in my opinion, there's no reason to switch the old one for that one.

Guitargirl, yours looks like you have some kind of grey-filter on your picture that dulls every colour. Maybe up the contrast a bit?

This is a rough draft of what I think would look good. The cropping and quality is suspect but the concept is to have an artist from each main music genre and making a banner out of it. The Colors, fonts and size of image is subjectable and easily changable.

VERY good... I think a poll to see which artists would be included would be really cool.
