It wasn't too long ago where I was fairly single minded in terms of music, but places like this and mates quickly opened up my mind. Its awesome to find so much 'random' but quality stuff. So much better than forums that are dominated by one genre group/fans. Nothing wrong with them just talking about the same stuff constantly gets boring

BTW was it just me or was the site down for a while today? Guessing as much based on the small amount of new posts...
i was at home and i kept trying to get here and it brought me to a government site

It was down for everyone, but it's been fixed now.
The last time this happened was a few years back and it took days to sort out.
The admin we have now seem to be a lot more on the ball than the old ones.

Any glitches left over can be reported in here.

I am pretty sure that the lack of "fun" that has been happening on these forums is a direct cause of the Oink incident, which caused MB to abolish the sharing thread and all the other threads where we would post links. I honestly haven't been posting much since then. It isn't like I just posted in there either, but I just felt better overall when coming to this site and so did a bunch of other members who left.

I know what you mean and sharing would bring new people in and encourage traffic but things are being monitored so much more now, it would be a shame to be closed down if we re-opened those threads.

I don't miss the sharing threads at all. I found myself getting bored of the place when people were forever posting links rather than saying anything of interest.

Oh, I understand that. I am just stating a reason I believe activity of some members has gone down.

So what was the 'sharing threads' anyway?

Did people pretty much just post .rar links to whole albums or something?

Yes. It was pretty sweet...while it lasted.

I have to agree. Not only did they say almost nothing, i feel as if it was quantity over quality. You get the impression people are just slapping up links for anything they find.

And what pissed me off is that you could write 3 pages of eloquent review for something and it got less listens that a ****ing link. That always drove me crazy. Why not become a link hub at that point...

you know what, screw the OP. Musicbanter sucks!
