or people could just try learning to express a point of view without resorting to profanities.

the only time the filter seems like a hassle to me is when it comes to certain musicians names like Herbie Hancock or Marvin Gaye.

Me neither. Like I said it's extremely inconsistent. "Gay" is filtered but "queer" and "homo" aren't. "Gook" and "chink" are filtered but "******" and "spic" aren't. Go figure.
