Sorry, I just not might not be completely understanding you.
It's a little different from that, a little more specific. It's like best screenplay versus best picture.

I totally agree with Big3 on this idea by the way. I'm generally a terrible thread starter, mine tend to be short-lived and go nowhere, but there are other people on here whose thread starting abilities I admire. To make a thread that lasts for months or years really takes some strange sort of talent.

No I see where its similar Mojo, the difference would be this I suppose.

Best Poster - This is someone who's sort of an MVP. Good at almost everything, always a thoughtful contributor whether its a fruitless discussion, or something deeply personal or intellectual.

Best Thread Starter would be, if this weren't a forum, the best debate moderator, or someone who spurs good conversation. I get how you can see them as the same, but let me give you an example.

I think his names Boogy_J and he starts threads that infuriate the **** out of me, but he gets incredible responses for his threads and they create sprawling discussion. I don't think he'd win best poster, but he starts threads that Best Posters really shine in.

I already think I know who will win some of these things. Can we get a "worst taste in music" category?

Ok well yeah that sounds good to me. If you want to decide on an official definition for it then that would be useful. Short and sweet but clear.

Also do we even have a one for best taste in music, never mind worst?

I thought of that and was just coming back in here to edit my post. Let's throw that in as well.

I'd ask that maybe Janszoon write it. I'm anything but clear or concise.

Ok, well I'll pencil "Best taste in music" and "Worst taste in music" in for now. Big3s suggestion seems fine as well so we'll add that too. I'm just wondering if anybody would object to "Worst taste" or not? Is there anything to be gained from this one?

Also I'm thinking about the best time to get this started. Obviously there are two rounds of nominating/voting to get through and we're already over a week into the month. Does this discussion thread need to be left open until Monday or should we get this kicked off this weekend? People would still have until Saturday morning to get their suggestions in.

I don't know if we're going to get mind-blowing results by leaving it open for an extra week. I say lock in Monday and begin the voting at 8 am, English time.

I think I may just see what happens in this thread by Saturday. If it looks as though it's run it's course then i'll open the nominations. If not, then I'll stick with next Monday instead. That would just mean that the actual voting round would probably be around about the 22nd to the 31st of December and obviously a lot of folks could be pretty busy around this time!
