That's why you always come out of the woodwork to explain and justify the bannings for the mods, right? Kind of a pseudo-mod type role.

Yeah. I should be modded just so I can wipe smirks off faces when people roll into threads like this crying about how someone did something stupid and got hammered for it, just because they like the person in question and think basic decency should have to apply to them.

Dirty straight up admits he was trolling and he's proud of it. If that doesn't say "Deserved a ban", or at least "Deserved a mod stepping in" what does? Serious question. I expect an answer.

Really? He impersonated Vanilla on top of his usual trollishness. That's fairly clear, I think.

My only issue with this is I don't like the idea of retro actively applying a rule to something before it was made.

Well it's not clear, because of posts like these:

Okay, I have a burning question.

How far reaching is the jurisdiction of the mods here?

Vanilla was being impersonated in a tinychat and Dirty got banned for it?

I can understand if he was doing it in the IRC channel but he did it in tinychat.

So, If I made a group skype chat and decided that I wanted to impersonate Conan will I be banned for that?

We already discussed this on chat but no that was not why he was banned. It was for insulting other members. :)

Which gives those who don't use the chat no information.

I hope DJChameleon doesn't get banned. He's trying to pass himself off as some guy named "Andrei" on my facebook. Everyone knows it's him!

Why wasn't he banned? So far possible reasons have been:

The video he made about thevirgin - This isn't why he was banned.
Impersonating a mod in the chat - He definitely did this, it is now thanks to him being an ass, a bannable offense, but this isn't why he was banned either.
Mooning everyone on cam in the chat - Pretty much the same as above, since it meant the rules were then OFFICIALLY extended to the IRC chat, not just in an unspoken way.
"It was for insulting other members." - Conan and Vanilla have both said this and both said that what he said was nasty and deserved a ban.

Seems to me that the first reason was irrelevant, the next 2 reasons would have gotten him instantly banned had he not been the first person to make it so such obvious "Don't be a dick" style rules were even NEEDED, and the last reason seems like a simple-as-hell way of giving you guys answers without resorting to just reposting whatever unacceptable things he said.

After all, whats the point of posting "Dirty got banned for posting this: <verbatim quote of unacceptable behaviour>", when those posts were already deleted so that the forums didn't have to deal with people requoting that bull**** everywhere?

I feel like not impersonating a mod...or anyone, for that matter...is something that should be fairly common sense. In fact, something like that should have been implied in the rules as they were. Instead, we had to spell it out.

Well, it has since been explained. I hope now it is clear.

Keep flexing your faux-mod muscles, we'll pretend you actually had an impact on the mod decision-making. Wannabe with no life.
