S_k - Because we've already tried a dozen times, and when his year is up we're goin to try for lucky number 13, in the hope that the time away from this place has cleared his head and caused him to gain some social faculty. Even by your arguments stance, the mods here have tried what you're suggesting. To give him another short ban would only undermine the purpose, which is to make him realise that his behaviour has to change. As I noted earlier in the thread, his ban came about partially because he made light of it during the episode leading to his banning. He specifically made mention of how he didnt care about being banned because he'd just come back again and it wouldn't affect him.

The time away has obviously made him start to realise that can't be how it is any more, but is it really any less damaging in the long run if we show boo boo that simply asking nicely can get him out of a punishment he knew was coming and courted anyway? He can come back when his year is up. He has every choice in the world open to him except one, until then, and when he gets to the year, he has every choice including that one. He is not significantly inconvenienced by being denied access to this website until then, and if he is inconvenienced that much then what he needs isn't this forum, its a therapist. It wouldn't be fair on the mod team to expect them to shoulder that burden for him.

With any luck his return will mark a new boobs, and even me and even the mods will end up revising our opinions. It'd be best for everyone if that's the case, but (Yet more) leniency won't help a bit towards achieving that.

Um how in any way would that offend Dirty? I think he can take a joke.

I like boo boo, but his behavior is so consistent. I can read him like a book. He goes a few months being "good" then has his period all over musicbanter and the mods have to clean up the mess. He's been given several chances. I think he should wait this one out. I don't have to clean up the mess but I feel sorry for the mods giving him chance after chance and he basically throws it back in their face...

I'll go back now and read everyone's opinion. I say: mercy before justice. Also, I just miss Boo Boo being here. If someone wants in and feels he is ready, I feel sad knowing he's still out.

The one year expulsion was an arbitrary length of time, anyway; no one knew how long it would take Boo Boo to get to the point of being able to follow the MB rules consistently. Maybe that time length has already been reached.

I guess I'm musicbanter's boo boo ambassador now.

But, I'm willing to swallow my pride and try to adapt to the rules, especially knowing now that the reputations (possibly even the membership) of my supporters are at stake and one more fuck up could end the few friendships I have on this website, that doesn't mean I'm willing to kiss the asses of people I despise (GuitarBizarre can still eat a fat dick), but I can at least try to focus my attention where such people don't dwell. I don't see why you can't just ban me from the shoutbox or something which is almost always where I started controversy (save the whole banning everybody when i was a mod because of a stupid argument about feminism thing). Do I have an issue with self control? To an extent yes. But my life has gone through some unexpected changes lately, it's getting progressively less ****tier and it seems like I might actually have a future after all. So if you guys feel THAT strongly about me doing the extra time, that's fine, I won't lose sleep over it. I just don't see the f*cking point, if you really think I'm just gonna get banned again and that I have nothing to contribute to the site you might as well permaban me instead of pretending like you're being fair to me.

truthfully i don't think boo boo was ever all that bad sure he was psychotic but please we all are, i think i few people who hate him just created a "hysteria" of some sort (there's probably a slightly better word to use but i can't think of it right now) on this situation.
