There is one thing I can see happening from this, and maybe it won't happen. As some people have said, making a post restriction would be a good thing, but wouldn't that in a way condone people to not put so much work into their posts? What I mean is...say somebody knows about how many posts one person needs to get into that part of the forum, they could just go on a posting frenzy and meet the requirement. Though, I also read that a moderator would have to approve that person. I guess there's a lot that goes into it, but that's just my thought.

I would suggest just not advertising the forum's existence. Newcomers wouldn't necessarily know it exists until they reach the required post count.

That makes sense. In which case I would definitely agree and be down for something like this.

I do like the idea of a members only forum but it shouldn't be accessed by post count.
Any idiot can get 100 posts. Even that Baggs guy got something like 140 posts before he was finally banned.

It should be by moderator approval only.
That way if someone does start trouble you can kick them out straight away.

Even if I'm one of the less open ones, I have no problem with this at all. It's a good idea.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

Seeing that my 'your life on streetview thread' here has zero ontopic postings an on my own forum about 30, I'd say people are very careful here.

Yeah .. It's an interesting concept, but I would never share such info on MB as it is now.

I dunno, I don't have much to fear for I guess?
As I said, my forum is completely isolated from the web and every member who doesn't post within three weeks, is deleted.
This works rather well

I wouldnt set up a new forum totally for this purpose, but I'd suggest maybe turning the lounge area itself into the hidden section. If you start a new area, you'd take away traffic from parts of the forum currently in existence, and lurkers seeing the lack of activity would maybe decide not to sign up. Whereas, just changing the status of an existing area to hidden would mean the same traffic flow in each section as it is currently.

Adding a moderator approval feature on this as well would also mean that newbies would pretty much be forced to post about music, and the increase in music posts would encourage the rest of the forum to engage in more music discussion as well because there are more opinions to agree/disagree with.

Please make this happen. There should be a fairly high post count requirement though. i.e. ~800 posts or moderator approval in special cases.
