If you make a thread and it already exists, it will either be closed and you'll be redirected to the original one, or we may just merge it with the old one. It keeps the forum clear of repetitive threads, which makes it easier to browse through.

He made a hair metal thread but just forgot to include any content, stuff like a poll, words and letters. It was like offering somebody a sandwich without any filling inside.

I don't have that problem, but when I was letting my cousin stay here for a few weeks, he would take the presence of beer in the fridge as an open invitation to drink it. That annoyed me highly.
