"Whoising" the domain some time back would give you the name and address of the owner of advameg.com (likely the head honcho), but he's found a way to make himself a little more invisible now. Either way, it's not someone who visits the site much.

Sorry to hear about your job, friend. I was laid off myself last year and its not a place anyone can comprehend until you're there. I don't know much about where you are, or where you're looking to go, but if you want to PM me.

Yep... and I'm positive I posted Rockafella's old profile on what used to be Google's top result for 'music forums' around 2003-4 in this thread yesterday morning. It even had this site linked as his homepage. Who's shocked to find out a user named Thrice##### joined just a few weeks prior and only made a handful of posts before leaving too?

I'm not the only former member from that site who posts or lurks here...

I'm not saying it's a ripoff. Just about every single web forum out there is laid out the same way. I just think it's funny at how small the world sometimes becomes.

Better observation - how long will this comment last before being deleted? I didn't post the links to that 'other' forum like when I pointed out this coincidence yesterday. Though, that reaction KINDA makes it seems like I struck a nerve with the higher ups.

Whatever. You weren't that original, neither was that other forum who's popularity peak coincides with the start of this one, can the people running this place actually own up to that? Or will this just get deleted ASAP, again?

I don't see any deleted posts from you in this thread. Are you sure you didn't do the old "hit preview and then forget to submit" thing? I can't count the number of times I've done that. In fact I just did it earlier today.

That's entirely possible.

Though I seem to recall a way for Admins to delete posts in a way that Mods can't see from having worn both hats at that other place. Like I said, it's not a huge deal, more like the hilarious confirmation of a long standing sneaking suspicion.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and I agree 100%.

On a side note, I was doing some looking around and I found a questionable website value consulting site that has MB's total worth at around $14,000 USD.
