From the great state of At times its frustrating but I'm ok with where I'm from and proud of it. I think despite all of Americas problems and criticism were a pretty resilient nation. I know this whole threads a joke but I strongly doubt ANYONE invading the U.S. would be successful in overthrowing it and imposing their will. As for American football being for a bunch of wimps...well thats funny. Suit up the best of the best of your rugby players and put them on the field and make sure their insurance is payed up before hand. Also probaly wouldn't hurt to have an ambulance standing by. While the league has become imo more injury prone I doubt any country could ever compete in the sport. However I'm positive if the roles were reversed we would instantly dominate the sport of rugby. Size, strength, conditioning, agility, and just the overwhelming number of athletes this country produces is amazing and unparalled to that of any other imo. Especially in a sport of that caliber. |

UK: 1999 - 40.6 Billion Education, 26.7 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Spend - 332.7 2004 - 61.0 Billion Education, 32.4 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Spend - 455.1 2009 - 83.0 Billion Education, 41.8 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Spend - 629.2 1999 - Defense spend was 65.8% of the Education Spend, and 8% of the overall budget. 2004 - Defense spend was 53.1% of the Education Spend, and 7.1% of the overall budget. 2009 - Defense spend was 50.4% of the Education Spend, and 6.6% of the overall budget. USA: 1999 - 1999 - 65.8 Billion Education, 335.7 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Budget - 1727.1 2004 - 76.7 Billion Education, 313.8 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Spend - 1957.9 2009 - 97.0 Billion Education, 594.4 Defense (Including Foreign Military and Economic Aid) Total Spend - 2853.5 1999 - Defense spend was 510.2% of the Education Spend, and 19.4% of the overall budget. 2004 - Defense spend was 409.1% of the Education Spend, and 16.0% of the overall budget. 2009 - Defense spend was 612.8% of the Education Spend, and 20.8% of the overall budget. So yes, you're probably right, probably no other country on earth spends nearly a 5th of its entire budget, and 5x its education budget, (And rising) on its military, and therefore it'd probably be ridiculous to try and invade America.

I wrote up a giant rebuttle, but you know something, I like you Brits and it was just getting mean. We don't need that. Just the same, in case you're thinking of feeling superior I'm going to leave you with 5 points:
1. Education 2. Olympics 3. Barack Obama v. David Cameron 4. We landed a rover on Mars this year. To hang out with the one we've had there for the last 9 years. 5. Coldplay. Happy New Years....gentleman. Oh and BD. I've had Molson before...sit down.
