Disappearing Posts

Nothing can be deleted from the log, it seems. Everything is laid out right there.

Urban is right...there is no way for a mod to delete items from the thread log. If your post is missing, its because the admin did something with it, or it was a simple glitch.

If my post wasn't deleted, I'm still annoyed because they have been deleted in the past.
So I'm ****ing sure, BD, that you can understand that I might be a little bit paranoid that people are just trying to delete what I'm saying because it pisses them off.

It's happened before, so I'm not doubting it happened now.
And since my best friend read the post and then talked to me about it on Facebook, I'm positive it was there.

Edit: I understand, NSW. It could have been a glitch. :] Haven't seen you around in forever, btw!

I get it, but I'm sorry that I can't thoroughly explain what's happening here. I can't see posts by you that were deleted, so that leaves two things - a) they were hard deleted by a mod who doesn't want other mods to know they deleted the post or b) the post in question was never actually there (obviously not true since somebody else saw the post). So I vote for A.

So it IS possible?! Okay. I mean I said what I had to say in that thread anyway, so I don't care anymore. I was more upset before because it really was a good and well thought out post.

Now, I'm over it for the most part. But it does seem to be happening to other people as well. For another post claimed to be deleted in the future, not the one I'm mentioning, I encourage mods to see if that, too, is absent from the log. This way, you might see a pattern.

To be completely honest, if it's not in the log, then the post was either never deleted or never submitted at all. Nobody (except the fairly absentee Admin I assume) can tamper with the log. If the post was "Hard Deleted", it's going to say Removed in the last column. And your name doesn't show up in the log.

If you look at the log you can see where I hard deleted some spammers post.

I think everybody should just move on. The topic in question is a controversial one, about porn, and you can understand why a post may be deleted in terms of the website/Google/etc. If your post was deleted, I doubt it was because someone had a vendetta against you or wanted to silence your opinion, it was probably because you brought up a taboo topic or questionable content that is perhaps not appropriate (and no fault of your own because the thread was a controversial one from the beginning).

If not, then the post probably never existed in the first place, or there was a glitch in the web browser or something and it didn't submit properly, in which case you can also calm down

So either way.... chill.
