Apart from him making about 300 posts in the lounge in 2 days and people finding it annoying.

Well since he hasn't posted since his "farewell" post, I'd say it's safe to say he's gone.

And what I'm saying is that I don't see why this is a bad thing. Yeah, maybe he was a little weird and overly enthusiastic about posting here, but why exactly would we want to flame someone just because they were happy that they found a forum and a community that they liked? We should be ecstatic when a member like that comes around, ESPECIALLY on a music forum where a diversity of ideas is exactly what we should strive for (unless you're realtalk, I hope she leaves asap)

Right so, check the users online, he is here ALOT! He is just quieter now.
I have seen him at least 100 times since his farewell.

Honestly the only one I can see that left and never came back in recent history was Knob. (Doesn'treallymatter) And are you really sad about that?

Don't end up like this guy you sound sweet enough, any q's let me know. I answered his qs 500 times over. Not a problem I will always help someone out. Well I guess whatever I said to him didn't sink in cause he would freak when his **** got moved to the right spot, or whatever.. Finally I lost my patience....

I never gave a **** about fitting in. I just got to know ppl by lurking first. Best tool the fresh meat could use if you ask me.

This is for you YD. Since you think that no one tried to help this kid and we all ganged up on him. Seems like you proved my argument about posting your impression of something when you have no clue what happened.

But go right ahead and vilify me if you like.

WHY NOT START A FIRST IMPRESSION THREAD? I mean this one is called spill your guts. Or am I lost again?

Wasn't even talking to you gurl, i was talking to Trollheart.

Why make that distinction?

ok, let's say someone is wrong in their first impression, either the person will correct them or time will, what harm is done?

My first impression of you was that you were friendly and funny, did that insult you?

i still stand by what i said. U_U

"Just lurk" is such a weak cop-out to me to try and fix/justify an unfriendly community. Never in my life has there been any sort of social situation irl or on the internet where it was actually encouraged to actively not try to fit in and meet new people when you're in an unfamiliar place. I mean what kind of joke is that.

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-01-2014 10:48 AM

The guy who goes into threads to deliberately wind up people is complaining about an unfriendly community

Maybe I should ask Realtalk or FTD just how friendly you are.

My bad you always use the @ symbol lol sorry.

Nope. Didn't insult me, I just think its a matter of knowing when to keep your mouth shut, and when its ok to open it. But you know, I am old school like that. I don't get saying ****, that you can't take back and being wrong on top of not being able to take it back..

I mean don't say anything at all that way, when you give your opinion, it's based on more then 24hrs. But hey I must just be too stoned for this conversation again.

I'm sorry, are we talking about welcoming new members or are we talking about particularly spiteful relationships between multiple semi-regulars?

Brother, lurking is a observation tool. Nobody said lurk the entire time you are on here. Just get to know the people you are about to start bashing. That's it.

I mean **** man, by your logic, they come here say what they want to the wrong person, that person is loved by someone who can drop a ban hammer and they end up banned any ****in way. I mean **** at least if they lurk they might learn a thing or two.

But hey by all means bro, entice them to a ban.

Don't get yourself into a corner you can't get out of.

What are you talking about? Being welcoming and friendly to new members has been the whole point of what I've been saying all this time, especially when said new members are friendly people that deserve to be treated nicely in return.

It took a while, but I finally understand what you are saying. Yeah, I agree with you about that.

Look, it's a forum do whatever the hell you want (obviously, as long as it doesn't break the rules), personally though, that's not the mantra I live by though.

Also, YD, I think Roxy is talking about new members coming into this thread, and spilling their guts about the members when they've only been here for a week or so.

I lurked, and I didn't come in here for a few months until I wanted to know what happened to Kartofellbrei.

RoxyRollah 04-01-2014 11:07 AM

Right, but just now we were talking about cliques, and members treating each other poorly. And when reposted what I had actually done for your "friend" there the only thing you could come back with was lurkin is weak. That's because I wasn't mean to your friend like you thought I was. I even answered his threads to make him feel welcome. Now again what is the problem with Noobs taking a minute out of their MB tenure and learning what the regular people are like. THAT IS NOT US WELCOMING THEM. That is noobs walking into a tight knit community and effectively inviting flame. So I fail to see how you were talking about welcoming people just now.

Urban mentioned your relationship with FTD and RT. And I am gonna learn you something right here. So clean the **** out from between your ears and listen up.

You my dear, although I like you and this in no way effects my personal relationship with you. You can be hurtful to people.

I don't put you on blast for how you talk to my people. Do I? Nope. And when you put me on blast I was neither to chicken to own up to it, or not able to defend myself. You however my dear make it a point to bash RT FTWD and all I will say is that because of that you have 1 of those two women wondering what the **** your problem with her is. I know because they pmed me and asked. I guess in my opinion people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I think it is more deplorable to run off an established member then to point noobs who might not stay in the correct direction.

Oh Roxy <3

I knew you were cool from day 1 don't doubt the instincts.

Look i get you and Trollheart's point, IN FACT i remember being a noob and posting here in MB that this place was horrible, just pointing all it's flaws and Trollheart himself scolded me about it and he was right.

Old members do know how things work around here but this doesn't mean this is their private playground. as a noob i found it very hard to fit in around here exactly because of this.

I look at it the opposite if you're too insecure to post on a site then you have other issues. There is nobody stopping anybody from posting/making friends doing whatever it is you desire. If somebody find this place callous then they probably go through life sniveling about alot of stuff.

I'm gonna assume FtD PM'd you because I've never seen realtalk anywhere besides something related to Michael Jackson or R&B so she probably gives no ****s. Let FtD know that I at least respect her musical opinions!!

A lot of your post was kind of incoherent but I think I got the gist. You clearly have a far different opinion on how people should handle social situations and by extension how people should handle themselves on a forum. A forum is completely public for a reason, if someone wants to drop a first impression of someone in this thread it should not be looked down upon. It's just psychology, we develop impressions on people very quickly. Opinions can also change, as my opinion of several members here have gone from bad to good and vise versa. A thread that's entirely about people's opinions about other people should be open to all voices, not just people that have been here for some arbitrary length of time just so you can see their opinion as valid.

AGAIN NO ONE SAID THEY ARE LOOKED DOWN ON.

Jesus! I treat others the way I expect to be treated. Feel me? Soooo I don't post my first opinions on people because I like to educate myself on what they are actually like. I am looking down on bad form. Not people. Don't put words in my mouth.

How does a person justify not being accepted? calling everybody an assh*le. :usehead:

You know who i like? Realtalk.

Even though i disagree alot of times with her and everybody gangs up on her she is still here taking everybody on.

And she doesn't go for low blows most of the time, what i mean by that is people here have been really to mean to her and usually she is not mean back to them.

Now idk her or anything, this is just an observation from what've seen from her posts.
