It requires more effort of imagination than I can currently muster to come up with a plausible reason why I would use a sock puppet to discuss religion on MB.

What? Even if we don't agree on certain topics, I considered you as one of the more/most intelligent posters on MB and I imagined you had this devious sense of humor. But if you are denying it to protect you identity, I understand.

Thanks. I do have a sense of humour, but it's more stupid than devious and it seldom translates well to text

Yeah I have the same troubles.
Maybe it's Poe’s Law. “Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humour, it is impossible to create a parody of fundamentalism that someone won't mistake for the real thing.” Internet rules and laws: the top 10, from Godwin to Poe - Telegraph

For anyone who's wondering, Tristan Geoff requested a three day ban. He'll be back in about 72 hours unless he has a change of heart.

He requested a temp ban? I guess he's trying to ween himself off the evil, time-wasting web forum?

I don't really understand how a forum can have any major impact on your life. I mean, it's like "oh hey, new posts, I'm gonna read some. Oh hey, a statement or question that I can have input on, I'm gonna reply.... alright, maybe I'll come back later"
