pfft you had a high opinion of someone you didn't know all that well and some of the things that happened behind the scenes but continue to glorify that **** and put him on a pedestal.

I didn't see every post he made, maybe there is something out there I missed and would think differently. But I didn't see him as having a "meltdown" as Trollheart put it. You talk about things "behind the scenes" as if you are privy to secrets of what actually went down. I don't know what happened, and don't really care either. I just imagine him loosing interest in a message board that doesn't talk about music like it use to. So he moved on. Just because I see things differently doesn't mean I am glorify him or putting him on a pedestal.

I don't know exactly what drove Urban off, but I think he got a beautiful view of what the internet has to offer on sites like these.

His last post ended with a laughing emoticon. You believe that's the last act of a desperate man?

I feel like I used to see DeadChannel, 1BlankMind and Terrapin Station around a lot. They all seem to be MIA.

Where did I ever say he was desperate? He seemed to be angry/frustrated with how the place was going, hence those smaller threads, as I think a way to illustrate how people here were spending more time in the Lounge on trivial matters and not discussing music. I have no idea of his mental state, then or now, nor would I try to guess at it. I would still characterise this as a meltdown (not a breakdown): a man who had perhaps been pushed to a point where he personally felt he no longer wished to be associated with the forum. I think that's a fair assessment, no?

Edit: I also spoke with him via PM later and he confirmed I was pretty much on the money.

And Pansy

Blank, as I understand it, is working too much to be an active member anymore but he said this a little before he stopped posting. I haven't seen DeadChannel in over a year though

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I'll take the long odds and put down $5 on him getting back with LiL.
