I remember when MB wasn't a place for maladjusted alcoholics to go on drunken ****posting binges. Shudder.

I'm going on an mb nostalgia trip and I don't like it.

This place was SUPER welcoming when I joined in 2004. Everyone was friendly, for the most part. If you acted like a bully or an asshole, you weren't glorified and imitated like nowadays, you were put in your place by everyone, because people actually cared about this place, not just using it as an outlet to get their jollies or harass people from the safety of a keyboard. But that was definitely a different age, as far as the intent goes.

I remember getting at least one death threat shortly after joining :laughing:
It wasn't the welcoming atmosphere that had me sticking around. I'm not sure what it was, but I kept being attracted like a fly to a pile of warm manure.

When I joined, this place was still new and everyone was on a level playing field, so it felt more inviting.

I thought you were super depressed these days and avoiding your family to isolate yourself with depressing music?

I joined in 2011 and the place was full of *******s for the most part. I came back after a few years recently, and it’s atill mostly *******s.

But everyone has astoundingly great taste in music, and I gotta chase the dragon, so what am I gonna do?

Anyway. I like this place, usually. Just as long as I stick to the musical section. Some of y’all are scary.
