he was active on discord until a few days ago (or maybe it's been a week already) but we got into a physics debate and I may have scared him away with quantum field theory

As for quantum physics, you're way too brainy and would have scared me away too. I struggled mightily with physics in high school and passed by the skin of my teeth.

Me too. There was this girl who had a big crush on me back in high school. I'm not proud of it, but I leveraged this - she allowed me to cheat off her work during lab assignments.

You bet your ass I aced the class.

Not sure what my problem was - calculus was no big deal to me - but physics was something else.

I'm still a neophyte. I went to a math and science oriented high school and hated math and science (only went there to escape the tough neighborhood school. Skipped ninth grade so started off as a sophomore, which made matters worse.). Like you, I did OK in calculus but physics was way over my head.
