What's inherently stupid about this argument is that you're trying to say there isn't an empirical concept and study of consciousness outside of philosophy.

Like, you're just choosing to dismiss language so you don't have to actually take responsibility in debating something that you can't actually debate. Of course the language used in debating 'free will' is tied to the idea of free will just as the language in debating ANYTHING is related to the subject you're debating. But it's not just made up bible quotes, it's empirically defined concepts that exist outside of the idea of free will too.

Edit: And the worst part of it is I don't actually have a strong belief in agency to begin with. I don't know and I don't care. I'm just providing an argument that you can't refute but will militantly dismiss like a religious person because you've already taken a stance and refuse to hear otherwise.

The predetermination counterpoint is tied to the religious paradigm of free will as well since it separates the mind and the body and declares the body so superior that it renders the mind into nonexistence. That's why the false binary is a pseudointellectual game of reductionism for dolts like yourself. Your framing of thought/consciousness/choice as chemical reactions within the brain being somehow separate from the brain is closer to religion than my stance that the laws of thermodynamics dictate the process of thought/consciousness/choice in the same way that they do orbit. By semantically trying to deduce that choice is actually just another way to describe the laws of thermodynamics, you're just restating my point.

Do you mind sharing some of the resources that so successfully brainwashed you? I'm more interested in that than whatever personality traits you pick up on in this discussion. I've already read Why Words Are Magic.

I am not saying that, you are a dumb ****. If you can't see a problem in uncritically using the word "decide" in your pro-free will argument then you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

And yes I have taken a stance because the concept of free will is obviously nonsensical. I'm sorry you don't have the mental capacity to understand that but maybe loosen your braids a bit.

Meh. You could at least wear high heels. Not that I'm into that. Though of course if I had no choice...

Batlord: Peepee poopoo isn't real. It's just some made up meaningless thing people believe in because it sounds flowery and poetic.

Frown: Peepee is the fluid that has been processed by the digestive system and poopoo is the solid matter that has been processed by the digestive system.

Batlord: Yeah you're not saying anything. You're just using loaded words like "fluid", "digest", and "process" as if they're simple concepts you can just plop down in a discussion about peepee poopoo without their own dissertations.

Good word choice considering the subject.

I figured, but can you be more specific?

We've both given empirical definitions to the words you hate and have yet to hear valid criticisms, but okay Batlord. We're the dumb ones because you don't understand. Just dismiss and deflect away.

high heels suck, and are worthless when it comes to men-trampling. I prefer wearing boots, thank you very much

I assume he's just embarrassed to say that Luther is his key influence on the subject.

I'm sitting here looking at how dead MB is and how the only action is still in the free will discussion in the missing posters thread. I contemplate whether to use 30 mins on my only day off to go back and read the arguments and see who is being retarded and how. I decide against it. Did I actually decide not to read this discussion or was I predetermined to go back to scrolling through YouTube instead???
