Yes, I can imagine that OH gave the mods a headache once in a while, and some posters found his more extreme positions offensive.
I was offended myself at first, but grew to like OH. Perhaps not every time, but he was often ready to defend his opinions calmly, and generated a lot of stimulating discussion. He tipped me off to some good music, and most important of all, he would regularly respond to my own posts. So, yeah, I miss him .
