It was the worm thing.

Don't care. I smell you.

That presupposes treatment to in most cases change or overcome the condition, making it almost always a negative thing. Someone would say "how's the cancer?" or maybe "how's your mental health" or somesuch, but I doubt anyone's said any of these three - "How's your straightness/heterosexuality?", "How's your homosexuality/lesbianism" or "How's your transhood?" (not sure if that's a word but you know what I mean).

When you call something a condition you've pretty much immediately implied there's a problem. Happiness is not a condition. Laziness is not a condition. Paralysis is a condition, so is measles. I think the definition of condition to include straight people (in an attempt to perhaps justify characterising people who are trans as having a condition) is disingenuous at best, maybe what you people call a strawman? Never quite understood that word really. But certainly the sort of thing that makes it look like an attempt at backtracking and retro-justification.

Just how I see it, but what do I know?

I've seen "straight" described as a condition before in discussions about sex and gender. I thought it was fairly commonplace.

Alright then he's a completely human pathological liar.

I don't really get your point but agree to agree

It's coming off like people are making business decisions. It's not how real life works, man. To use a phrase from Chapelle's friend...it's not how a human experience works.

His point is that trans people are wrong for wanting to transition because some have had bad experiences with that, so we need a Final Solution to the Trans Problem and that involves recognizing their genetic inferiority. He's upset at the cultural bolsheviks weakening society to the point where they're unwilling to Fully Solve the Trans Problem.

Frownland lays it on thick as molasses.

The Batlord 10-26-2021 02:15 PM

I'd have banned him for claiming to have trans friends to win an argument but I guess you people need "proof" he's being dishonest.

Trollheart 10-26-2021 02:18 PM

I admit my own experience is limited, but I have never ever heard heterosexuality be described as a condition. Ever. Nor any of the other two. Orientation usually. Choice sometimes. Identification quite often. Never condition. Even if someone did describe it in those terms, I doubt they were calling to mind the ideas you seem to have about this, Ant. It is in fact quite worrying that you can't see why others are concerned/disgusted/angry/shocked/delete as appropriate at your stance, which so far you have not distanced yourself from, just tried to clarify, and in so doing, taken a shovel and dug down a few more feet.
