Thanks very much for doing that research guys! The coincidence of dates is rather alarming, so I have just now sent her a PM inviting her to get in touch if she can. I'll let you know if or as soon as I get a reply, ok?

I think she was working in Istanbul, rostasi, and is presumably a US citizen. Luckily, there has been no press coverage about US citizens in trouble in Istanbul, so let's hope she just abandoned MB for personal reasons, or as Batlord mentioned, she got tired of the drama.
Time to check: did anyone post a comment critical of the Eurovision Song Contest in July 2016? If so, shame on you!

Aw you guys. It's so sweet of you to remember me at all, really, I was never very active! Lisna's message came to my email today so I thought I'd drop in and say hi.

Personal stuff: I got married in May of last year and around that time there had been a few terrorist attacks in Turkey and Europe that made my Turkish husband and I uneasy. The coup was the final straw for us. I had to leave Istanbul suddenly and I also lost my very boring job that used to allow me a lot of time for poking around on MB.

Since then I've been spending important time with family in Maine and Florida and just haven't had as much downtime. On top of that I got lucky with a new job plus tons of freelance work.

I think of MB often because I really did like it here and I feel like I got to know some of you well. I'm sorry I never said bye, it was a gradual disconnect and I only realized after a while that I had stopped coming here completely. Didn't mean to scare you!

And Batlord, yeah, the drama here is a little much sometimes, but that's what keeps us coming back for more amirite?? To be perfectly honest it's easy to leave when you don't feel you fit in that much, I think it's safe to say I was always in my own little world on MB

When Aux-In showed up I was like ok MB has a good source of music now, they don't need me anymore!!

I do regret not being able to cover Eurovision this year. I hope you can go on without me, guys...

And here I was hoping for gnarly stories of being in a Turkish prison.

Sorry to disappoint you! If you makes you feel better though the Turks don't keep Americans in prison for too long. They just deport you without any trial or hearing. That happened to a few people I know!

Also, hi everyone! I love that drawing of me complaining about the spelling of Lana del Rey. #goodtimes

Welcome back, Misspoptart. Just wanted to say that you're awesome. Not many users have what it takes to pull off a Gaia avatar on MB.

Congrats on all the positive changes (including staying away form MB ). Looking back a bit, I think I could've been more engaging with you in regard to musical discussion and things like that. No one I know in real life likes my music, so when you showed up in my journal, I think I was a bit surprised more than anything; that you knew the artists' names ahead of time . I was kind of doing my Aux-In thing at the time, so I think I was a little more "matter-of-fact" to some of your responses than I needed to be. No excuses for me, although I need to work on my Internet pleasantries sometimes.

Anyway, welcome back.
