As Roxy suggests, there are some posters who might appreciate being defended by an alerted mod, rather than having to fight it out for themselves, perhaps with a well-established and popular member.
This is a public forum, which can be viewed by music enthusiasts as well as by children and grandmothers. Reporting offensive posts is one way to give the place wider appeal, should any of those serious or innocent readers pass through.

Serious note: I feel we should also acknowledge the diligent work of our mods in acting on any reported posts. I just prefer to deal with it personally if I can, but as Lis and Roxy and others say, some people prefer to avoid confrontation and that's fine. I'm just pointing out there's another way. |
