You might be right about that. At least one might want a backup forum in place first, just in case they go ape****.

By the way, I've been writing bbpress.. which is wrong. This board runs on an ancient version of vbulletin.

Is it still getting swarmed with ad-bots due to the ancient captcha?

No idea on volume, but you can usually see three or four active spam accounts in the 'active users' on the bottom of the front page at any given moment. All with a joined date of the current day.

I don't know what a captcha is, but there are plenty of ad-bots.

Now I'm trying to imagine all of us invading and taking over another existing forum when this one dies. That would be disastrous but epic

Captcha is a method to keep bots from signing up and spamming the boards. Needless to say, it doesn't work very well here, another reason why the boards should get updated so mods don't have to spend time kickbanning and cleaning up after bots.

.. All that work you never get any credit for doing
