I'm not protesting his ban.

There are many occasions, though, where people were baiting merit, people said horrendous things about merit, and when merit retaliated the mods came in and gave him a warning and stopped it, but only when HE retaliates. Like that time when he said he was going to put OH on ignore and OH said something along the lines of "So you're going to pretend I'm your son?"

A small few members notice this, a small few members protest this bias and the moderators respond like, "Woah, what? You guys ALL want strict moderation now?"

I think the mods have done a good job.

One week to six months is a huge jump though. And perma’s should be really rare for people who’ve been here years.

I know I have a reputation as a monster but when I get a warning I do back the **** off because I really do like it here.

As a former teacher I understand it like a kid could get really worked up and do some ****ed up **** but if I took him out in the hallway and he calmed down I let it go because we worked out a resolution. If the mods give me a warning I back off. I don’t care if I’m “right” I don’t get indignant. I want to keep up my hobby which is basically my journal and ****. Chula and MERIT may appear less disruptive than me or bat but we don’t make it personal and force the mod’s hand. We slink back into the corner and sit quietly making spitballs until the next dillweed needs some childish provocation.

From what i can tell, a lot of the frustration here is coming from a place of ignorance and a lack of understanding of the situation and what kind of guy Merit is. I saw the original post and am glad he got banned for it. It wasnt just some silly jab, it was blatantly homophobic and written in such a way as an attack toward that community.

I'd also like to point out that the people that did see the post are having no problem accepting the ban. Just some food for thought.
