TWDY's members made 'Top 10 of 2000s' lists on their tumblr or something a while back, and they included massive amounts of ambient/drone albums. Highly doubt they don't enjoy what they play aesthetically.

Explosion in the Sky - Any album will do fine imo. (The earth is not a cold dead place is good) I'm not a huge fan of theirs but they are pretty much the best gateway post-rock band out there and have some pretty cool songs.
All these are quite easy to get into. If you enjoy these you must listen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. GY!BE might be harder to get into because of the 20min songs with movements but it's totally worth it in the long run.

If you want to you can send me a personal message and I can send you links to some great post-rock releases. I myself listen to tons of bands and I think I can find you some good ones
Don't be surprised to get a message from me!

Mmmm, what a band! Totally unique and incomparable to another post-rock bands. It was very hypnotic evening. I am glad I had a chance to see them live. If you have a chance, it's worth to go!
It was about 110 minutes and they said nothing, no hello or bye. They just came, played and went away from stage. People weren't sorry about it because the music is what everybody came for.
I've been hearing it's a lot more common that I initially thought.

Please do send me a message since I can recoomend you alot of great bands.

and to the other subject:
I actually love post-rock bands live since most of them just come and play and don't speak anything nor play any encores. I think it's great since the basic "How you doin'?" speaches are so lame and encores usually just ruin the flow of the show. Play the songs, stay quiet and exit with a great song. That's the way it should be and that is how I want to do it with my own post-rock band also.

Yeah I have a bunch of EItS shows on my computer and I've never seen them say anything. I think it kind of only works for post-rock though.

I KNOW WHO TOE IS. Toe is a really great Japanese band. Mostly instrumental and very jam sessiony (ooh is that french?). Ya check them out. There new album actually has decent bass too. I think everyone in that band save the drummer have day jobs which is kind of cool too.

"Stereolab was one of the first groups to be called post-rock—in a 1996 article, journalist Angela Lewis applied the "new term" to Stereolab and three other bands who have connections to the group."

How the fuck are these two in the same genre? It doesn't. Make. Fucking. SENSE. Since when did the term change? I'm so confused and annoyed. When people ask me what genres my favorite bands are classified I tell Them "shoegaze, dreampop, and post-rock". Then they say "Oh, you mean like God Is An Astronaut?" and I punch them in the face. It's so stupid, since when was post-rock hijacked and then used to describe bands that usually had instrumental/crescendoing/guitar driven songs? I don't hate "post-rock" bands as I like GY!BE, June of 44, Slint, and Gastr Del Sol, I'm just annoyed that people group together bands that sound nothing alike and it confuses people.

You're reading too much into it.
Journalists are always trying to find a tagline to give a band who have a sound that is slightly different to what's around at that time. I remember the White Stripes when they first started getting talked about being called 'Blunk Rock' (As in a mixture of Blank Generation & Punk Rock).
If you ignore the music and think about the term 'Post Rock' actually means it's a pretty abstract concept really and the fact that it's been given to two different things (Probably by 2 different people) shouldn't really come as much as a surprise. It's just in one case it stuck and in another case it didn't.
