they're your favourite? hmmm... don't care for them much.

yes taste and guys eyes are both underrated, amazing songs.

it bugs me when people say the only good songs on MPP are My Girls and the other singles. Almost every song is amazing.

Hating on MPP is cool now, so everyone be does it.
I listened to it from a completely unbiased perspective, and wasn't impressed with it from the first listen, repeat listens even now fail to impress me as much as their earlier recordings. They simply aren't pushing things forward as much as they have done previously as a group. I'd even go so far as to say its one of their weakest albums to date.

Go back nearly 8 years when they re-released "Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished" and "Danse Manatee" and you have a band at the top of their game, they followed up with these with the fantastic "Here Comes The Indian" and the more folk inflected "Campfire Songs" (albeit a side project). The last really interesting album they released was "Sung Tongs", after that its been reruns of what has come before!

I hate Danse Manatee actually.

However, Spirit is really great. Chocolate Girl is fantastic.

i have to say this: animal collective is a bit overrated, they aren't bad they have nice songs but i don't think merriweather post pavilion truly deserved things like top 10 album of the year, there were a lot of albums much better, animal collective deserves fame but not that much

I'm going to ironically dissociate myself with Hipster/Indie Cred by saying I think 'My Girls' is the best song on there. That and 'Also Frightened', which is probably my favorite. But 'My Girls' has actually been pumping me up for the entire year, and it still does.

Then again, MPP is a speck of dust compared to Sung Tongs (at least to me). I love to sell Sung Tongs, but seriously, I can't think of an AnCo album that is that good. Maybe Spirit They're Gone will be, I'm only now getting into it.

Also frightened is my favorite too. Perfectly produced from start to finish. Love the gradual crescendo of sounds which drown out the words near the end. Gives me goosebumps every time. Amazing stuff.

I think all the singles are fantastic and are probably my top 3.

In The Flowers is also one of my favourites. The moment it gets to the "if i could just leave my body for the night" part and the percussion kicks in all gets me pumped up to start an awesome album.
