Sounds like a 90s slowcore jam, did not expect that.

First single from Panda Bear's new album. A bit repetitive, but it's different I suppose.

And the "trailer" for the album. Not clear if this is, like, the opening song, or a segment of a song, or just a teaser and it's not anything on the album. Sounds interesting though. I could imagine this being an opening snippet, followed by the song above. Would be a pretty good opening sequence.

From Pitchfork, here's the track listing:

01 Sequential Circuits
02 Mr Noah
03 Davy Jones' Locker
04 Crosswords
05 Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker
06 Boys Latin
07 Come to Your Senses
08 Tropic of Cancer
09 Shadow of the Colossus
10 Lonely Wanderer
11 Principe Real
12 Selfish Gene
13 Acid Wash

Mr Noah is, as I suspected, second on the track list. I wonder if the tune above is "Sequential Circuits?" It sure sounds like a song called "Sequential Circuits." ;)

There's also a Mr Noah EP out (see Pitchfork link above). Gotta give it a listen.

EDIT: Looks like the tune Principe Real, which I was hoping would be on the album, is in fact on the album. Don't know if Soft Serve Rip Curve is on the album in some other form, or not. Guess I'll eventually find out.

A couple things from Panda Bear's upcoming album. I thought Tomboy was nice but not nearly as adventurous as Person Pitch. These sound like he's trying something new and different again.

I'm guessing the first one is just a sample from an incomplete song. Maybe also the 2nd, though it's longer. Not even sure I like the 2nd that much, but at least it's different and interesting.

OK I just listened to the Mr Noah EP twice, and my reaction is ...

Meh. It's OK, but I think he's overdone it with the repetitive melodies and emphasis (both sonically and creatively) on the ambient background effects. It's a bit different from his other stuff, but not that much, and I almost get the sense he's running out of ideas. Hopefully the full album will be better.

I'm excited for that release. From those samples, it sounds really good. Not Person Pitch level, but solid nonetheless.
