I'm far too lazy to make a new thread and this one is fine so it'll be.

They have the perfect glazed over glossy math rock tone and badass instrumentals.

Undecided-have only just got one of their albums, and while technically proficient-it seems a bit cold-BUT math Rock is a completely new sub genre to me and I will give it more time.

Thank you for making this thread! I loves 'em. Seriously, there's nothing better than a band with two bassists, one with a 5-string and the other with a 6-string.

These dudes also wisely realize that singing is best left to the few gifted souls who can genuinely do it properly.
yeah so as much as i hate quoting lame ohio-based magazines that usually don't know shit about shit, i'm much too underqualified to describe the musical behemoth that is volta do mar. originating from chicago, like all good bands do, volta do mar sound at times like your typical math rock shredfest dudes. other times they sound like jungle cats that somehow grew thumbs and learned how to make desert music from siberian sun gods, the kind that only come out once every few eons or so. "At The Speed Of Light Or Day" is one of the best albums i've heard in a while in the post-rock genre, a genre that i'd loved until repetitive atonal guitar chords played over dramatic drumming got boring.

That album has been on my radar for quite some time but I have yet to pick it up.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
