yeah he's great. Apparently he did a collaboration with the Scottish musician Richard Youngs, who is also a favourite of mine. I need to find that.

A lot of these Japanese artists tend to be insanely prolific for whatever reason. Boredoms as well have quite a lot of material, and about a million side projects and collabs too.

I've still not heard the collab with Richard Youngs

Most of it stands up to a close listen, tho - great for sure if you're into process (which I am) and also great if you just want a huge body of work to dig into. I got to say that although there is much that is similar about every Acid Mothers disc, there is also much that is different - once you've heard enough of it that the details stand out, that is - changes in moods and feels, little ideas that get stretched out and dwelt upon for long long times, hell there's that one disc where they just work a single theme for an hour or so! IAO Chant, that's the one.

Lots of live gigs available here (legally too):

Internet Archive: Acid Mothers Temple

This blows chunks off many stoner bands.

Bump.

Acid Mothers Temple have always been pretty high on my playlist.

Good lucking finding Kawabata's solo stuff though; those CDs are godawful expensive where I've seen them sold online.
