Default Acid Mothers Temple

"Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. (and subsequent offshoots) is a Japanese psychedelic band founded in 1995 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with 4 core members and frequent vocal guests."

I initially passed them off as a bunch of shitty noise, but after a good few proper listens I began to "get" it. And now I think they're one of the most incredible bands out there. Any other fans?

yeah, awesome band. they're mindblowingly incredible live as well.

I've only heard two albums though, but coincidentally I'm actually downloading 3 albums of theirs at the moment, as well as a live bootleg. They've got a pretty daunting discography, but I'm gonna check out what I can.

They're a very cool band. I'm a fan of the old 70s psychedelia, so it always makes me happy to see that there are more modern bands which carry the flag. Of course, psychedelia has amalgamated with other genres too (i.e. psytrance), but it's good that psych rock is still alive.

I don't know if this is allowed, if not do what you must. Here's a link to a site with LOADS of Acid Mothers albums, which I've been deleriously grabbing over the last day. Some of you are probably familiar with it.

go to page 8, or search "Acid Mothers". **** yes.

Omigod I love this band! Been to see them four or five times now in a few different incarnations, also got to see Kinski with Kawabata on 3rd guitar - MASSIVE. (Anyone dig Kinski btw? guess that'd be a separate thread...) Also AMT played a MAJOR role in opening my mind up to crazier musics, brought me down from classic soul, rock, funk and bits of "world" music to the real essence of where the spirit comes from, thus allowing me to dig such things as Les Rallizes Denudes, Sun City Girls and The Boredoms. Kawabata is one of my favorite guitarists, along with Neil Michael Hagerty and Marc Ribot.
