For some reason I immediately thought of Black Dice in this context.

I like AnCo too. Feels, what a great pop record. Strawberry Jam too.

Oh man, would have been insanely sick if Black Dice got to perform on Conan! They rarely tour anymore which is a real shame. I miss catching them live and chatting with them.

Yeah AnCo is one of my favorite bands of all time, I've seem them live over 12 times if you count their solo / side projects. Strawberry Jam, Feels, and Sung Tongs were my introduction to them and I first saw them live on the MPP tour. I haven't been able to catch them on the last two or three tours, though. I need to remedy that next year.

My personal favorite from AnCo's Paw Tracks label and from that whole era is Ariel Pink. He's kind of a genius in my personal estimation, even if sizable parts of his work are too shall we say Californian for me (not a big chillwave guy).

This type of thing (where it becomes a different track half way through) is just amazing

I used to love listening to Ariel Pink, lots of good times with friends.

Ever seen him live? He tends to be really aggressive toward the audience, starting out ironic (I think...) and escalating into unmistakably obnoxious.

In Montreal we also had King Khan & BBQ Show, a couple of guys doing back to basics garage rock whose brand includesd aggressive interactions with the audience. It's the kind of gig you go to to get fuсked up and dance when you're 20 but ultimately the music is nothing to write home about. Ariel is both less fun and far, far more talented.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.
